In the mustang world, this is one of the most desirablemodels made. Very nicely optioned, with the 390 GT engine, speed, powersteering, deluxe interior, power disc brakes, and the 9” ford rearend, just toname few of the options. The car camefrom the factory as GT, which included the GT equipment group, such as thefog lights grille, flip-down GT gas cap, GT Wheels, stronger suspension, andother GT amenities. This was aDSO 89 Ford Executive Car and one owner car. YES, that’s right, this car hasonly had one owner, and was in the same town in which the car was purchasedfrom back in 1968. DSO 89 was the ford Transportation Services District SalesOffice. This car was on the company lease plan and was owned directly by theFord Motor Company and was sent to the IR building in Dearborn Michigan and wasgiven to Ford Executive. Hard to say who owned it but I'm sure it couldprobably be figured out. VERY RARE Car with very important history. You Will NOTfind another one like this. The car hasa clear title, and the car also has all of the original VIN tags including theoriginal door tag, original buck tag on the radiator support, original dash VINtag under the passenger side windshield, and the apron VIN stamp! The carstill has its original numbers matching 390 GT engine, and speed toploadertransmission.According tothe Marti report, the car left the factory as follows:So I’ll givea breakdown of the car:Engine:NumbersMatching 1968 390 GT 4V engineBlock Date8C6C8AE-H 14Bolt GT headsFord 427Sidewinder Aluminum Intake Factory Ford PartOriginal 14bolt GT Exhaust ManifoldsC8OF-9510-CCarb CorrectDistributorMissingAll PowerSteering Equipment thereOriginalC8ZE Big Block RadiatorAir Cleaneris goneCar is not currently running.Transmission:Original 4Speed Toploader RUG-AD Close RatioOriginalShifter with Reverse LockoutRearend:Factory 9”Rearend with Tag and Correct Pinion SnubberInterior:This is ablack Deluxe interior car from the factory. 63B on the door tag. The car stillhas its deluxe door panels, front seats with headrests which was an option, andthe folddown rear seat with the rear interior trim panels. The woodgrain dashparts have been taken off the car, the console top plate was taken off.The car doesstill have an 8k tach with the correct clock. The gauge cluster needs thecorrect back. Gauges are just setting in there. What isinteresting is that the original owner told me those front seats were in thecar when he purchased it form ford. Indicating that the executive must havechanged the seats to comfort weave. This was headrest optioned car from the factory.Body:This is anoriginal fastback. Code 390 GT that left the factory finished in Raven Blackpaint code A. The body on the car needs completes restoration. It needs all theusual mustang repairs and then some including floor pans, exterior body panelwork, frame rail work. Look at all of the pictures in the album.
