For your consideration we have 1980 450Sl showing 68,000 miles on the odometer. The  car was acquired from retired lady in Florida who was liquidating the possessions of her deceased husband.  The story is that the Car was bought in Canada and brought to Florida  by “Snowbirds” and remained here with the last owners. The Odometer works and according to the seller is correct as the vehicle was only used as weekend car.  Since the Car was acquired it has had the following done: - ·      Gas talk emptied and professionally cleaned·      Fuel Distributor rebuilt ·      Two New Tires The POSITIVES :- ·      Dashboard in great condition – no cracks·      Engine turns over first time and Transmission changes fine. ·      All lights and switches working condition·      Black leather interior in generally good condition·      Soft Top looks unused·      No leaks·      No rust- including none in the spare tire well  and behind the rear shelf Things to be done :- ·      Driver’s seat shows cracking and wear and tear – it’s in usable condition but will need to be replaced at some stage ·      AC need to be checked and recharged ·      Antenna works – but has to be put up manually·      Various rubber seals and mounts will need replacing·      Engine tuning – idling about 4000 revs higher than normal .    Paintwork looks original could use good buffing 7/10 This is good solid car and good starting point for classic with low mileage. As with all 40 year old vehicles it is not perfect and will need work.
