2002 Rover 25 1.6 16v Nearly 116'000 miles, still in use.
Bought this few weeks ago, just to run around in until my new car arrived at the dealers. Overall its not bad car....its got some issues, but it drives, it stops, and I've done around 900 miles in it with no problems. MOT until Jan 2017, cheap tax and insurance. Engine is nice and smooth, just replaced the centre exhaust section, good tyres all round. There is tiny amount of rust on the wheel arches, only just bubbling the paint, the rest of the car looks totally solid. The sunroof needs new rubber seal, its had couple of key marks on one side, and the seats are bit tatty. The main issue it has is that the gearbox is noisy in 1st, 2nd and reverse, and the clutch slips little at times. mechanic mate had look, and he thinks the layshaft is worn and leaking little oil through the input shaft seal. I was thinking of buying another gearbox off Ebay for £50, and fitting new clutch, and it will be as good as new.....but don't have the time or the space now the new car has arrived. However, I've done 900 miles in it over the last weeks or so, and its been absolutely fine.....just don't accelerate hard and its fine. Starting it at scrap value....although with it being in such good condition apart from the gearbox, and MOT until next year, this could be bargain car for someone. Collection within days of auction end. Car is in Melksham, Wiltshire.
