2014 Ford F350 4WD Dually SEMA Build. Bid on this one of kind build by Motorsports Authority. Not only did this vehicle make an appearance at SEMA times, but it also underwent few changes for last year's show. Initial Transformation It's first build was named Black Rhino Project. The canvas is 2014 Ford F350 XLT Dually Crew Cab 4WD. The initial goal was to have SEMI truck look. The build was featured in the July issue of Diesel World Magazine and in Diesel Army (LINK). As far as we know, this is the first bagged 4WD dually. It took months of suspension trial and error and combination of 2WD bagged components to make the suspension come together. The suicide doors are made from factory 180 degree door components and heavily reinforced. One of the priorities in this build was that the suicide doors never sag. To make room for the reinforced plates, the rear audio was relocated and fiberglassed into the door panels. To make sure it matched, front door speakers were fiberglassed to match. The truck was purchased white and repainted fully to Sterling Gray Metallic. The exterior was then sanded all one direction so that it resembled Brushed Steel. The grill surround and front bumpers were painted bright silver to resemble Semi truck's front end. The build list is as follows:Rigid Industries Grille with 30" LED light bar WhiteRigid Industries pairs of Dually (diffused and spot) in fog lamp area Amber and White, respectively.Rigid Industries Dually Spot molded into rear bumper WhiteRigid Industries 20" LED Light bar in bumper AmberRetrofitted Morimoto low beams with black painted housingsGo Recon Taillights, Dually lights, Upper Cab Lights, Mirror Turn Signals, and Fender Emblem (Amber)PowerBass 10" Subwoofer, 5Ch amplifier, and sets of piece componentsAirbagit air management with auto settingsHornBlasters Conductor Series hornsBedSlideBedRugRetrax Pro American Force 24" Dually ImpactNitto Terra GrapplersRoadwire custom leather seatsRosen Dual headrest DVDs DVD player and media centerPioneer Navigation Double DIN headunitMagnaflow exhaust systemAEM Air IntakeFront bumpers were bumpers molded into one, creating 4" extensionEach dually fender was extended 4"2015 SEMA Build Changes American Force Wheels decided to bring back the truck after refreshing the build. American Force was releasing their American Muscle series wheels and the decision was made that each domestic brand would be represented by Truck and Car, matching the wheels on both vehicles. The truck and car would not only carry matching wheels in truck and car configuration, but also in overall color and design. It was decided that the SuperDuty and Mustang would both have scales under matte blue wrap. The scales would start small at the front of the vehicle and gradually increase in size as it approached the rear. This in itself took hours and hours of laying each scale to ensure it did so smoothly. The build would transform from rugged lowered truck look to more street appearance. Build changs are as follows:RokTek Mesh GrilleHeadlights redone. Low beams moved from upper section back to lower. Amber and White Rigid Industries Duallys replaced the turn signal and high beams.Rigid Industries Series lights replaced the fog lamp areaRoadwire sent new leather kit, redone with blue inserts and blue contrast stitching.Sony Navigation Double DIN replaces the pioneerAmerican Force 26" Independence FinalThis is definitely one of kind build. The odometer hasn't turned over 30,000 miles, maintenance and fluids have been changed and filled accordingly. The engine, turbos, tune, and DEF fluid have all remain untouched to preserve the factory warranty on the motor. Bags have worked perfectly on 8-10 hour drives. Keep in mind, it's bagged vehicle, and although it can be smooth ride. Air bags should be set to different pressures on different surfaces as well as in towing conditions. It has been an enjoyable vehicle, and my kids are greatly disappointed to see it go. However, it's time for us to move on to new build and nothing more.
