ALFA ROMEO 75 V6 2.5 Automatic SedanAn Australian 1990 model 75 2.5V6 sedan. Last ofthe rear wheel drive transaxle series made by Alfa Romeo. Arguably the 75series is considered to be the best made of all the transaxles using goodproduction techniques to make rigid bodies and better overall build quality. The Busso 2.5 litre V6 is renowned for its responsive power and that beautifulengine note. The engine in this car has done relatively low mileage inAustralia where the average annual mileage is about 20 000 km. Since 1990, thiscar has travelled just 150 000 which is less than 000 per annum. The enginehas been pampered by an automatic gearbox and so has not suffered any harshoverruns and is in very strong condition. The transaxle ZF gearbox is also inexcellent condition and shifts faultlessly. It has limited slip differentialas standard. Save for the ride height adjustment, all mechanicals on the car aresound and fully operationalThe bodywork is rust free, accident free and isvery straight. All panels fit well and all seals are in good order. Thepaintwork is sound but has minor scratches, stone chips and some colour changesin the plastic components compared with the metal panels. So it’s not perfectbut is acceptable. All the lighting works inside and out of the car. What doesn’t work is the superfluous warning light cluster in the panel facingthe front passenger providing false indications. They are simply disconnected. The important gauges in the instrument cluster, oil pressure, temp, and fuel allwork fine. The interiors are not pristine but are clean andserviceable used by non smoker. You can still smell that classic Alfa smellknown well by all Alfa owners.A couple of noteworthy points. The radiator is acustom made triple row tube copper core and brass tanks. Guaranteed to keepthis engine cool anywhere on the planet. The original power steering pumpreservoir has been downsized and relocated to accommodate the radiator changes.Perfect for full restoration if that is your aimone day. Finally, the rear tail light lenses fitted to thecar are just preference to better signal indication from the orange lens dueto very high ambient light conditions in Australia. The original clearindicator lenses for this model will be supplied with the car to re-instate ifrequired. The car price includes considerable numberof spare parts namely:-1 Driver’s door complete2 Both rear doors complete3 Both the front guards and dress edges4 Side skirts5 Rear boot lid6 Spare headlamps7 Original late model rear tail light lenses. All the above parts are in very good condition andwill be provided together with the car at the time of sale inclusive of price. In summary, this car has just been taken offregistration authorising normal road use. Most Alfas leak some oil here andthere. This engine requires the replacement of the front and rear engine mainoil seals due to the seals age. If this is done it should be fit for use on theroad. If you are looking to get into genuine rear drivetransaxle that has all the buzz of driving V6 Busso in town or country, thisone will be good to go out of the box.
