In two minds whether to sell my car or not it has been so good and utterly reliable it has never broken down anywhere and literally drives like new. I am BMW enthusiast and an Engineer and so have looked after the car very, very well. All BMW stipulated maintenance carried out and extra preventative maintenance carried out on top also, as you will read below. have folder full of receipts, the service book and BMW leather wallet with owners manuals etc.MOT is not due until July 2020 (and it has never failed an MOT by the way either). I've owned it for the last years; bought it when it was on 56,000 miles and drove from Truro to Derby to buy it from garage up there. The garage knew the car for many years having looked after it for an older gentleman. Excellent power and economy returns over 50mpg on run and with 280bhp on tap from its 3.0 turbo engine. This is why have kept hold of it for so long; it ticks so many boxes: comfortable, powerful, practical, economical, reliable and looks good. Cheap insurance too pay £350 per year. I have stack of receipts for sevicing items and other things -things which have not necessarily failed, as realistically nothing has ever failed on me (!) but as time has gone on things have replaced along the way are: (with receipts)New battery in December just gone (with year guarantee)New thermostats (both the main and EGR) 23/10/2017 Suspension upgraded to Bilstein B12 around 04/2017New Glowplugs and controller 08 and 09/2014Clutch and Dual mass flywheel 06/08/2014brake pads -7/2014discs 28/4/15 Extra preventative maintenance:Gearbox and Diff fluids replaced 97k miles (not part of BMW service schedule but it will definitely prolong the life ofgearbox and diff life)Swirl flaps removed from intake and intake cleaned (they can fail so garages remove them)Upgraded suspension to Bilstein B12 (shocks and springs all round) at same time replaced other parts: -Upgraded M3 bottom arms front and rear, new front rear strut top and bottom mounts etc. The Bilstein B12 upgrade was expensive however the standard sport had done 97k miles so figured a refresh was due. comfortable yet very capable sporty ride. BodyworkUpdated to BMW LCI front and rear (bumper, bonnet and rear L.E.D lights takes the car up to BMW 2013 spec) -The bodywork itself is in excellent condition. It really shines. Paint looks like new.-Always washed by hand (no car washes -to avoid scratching)-3 stage detailed as and when required for protection using expensive products (clay bar, polish and Wax sealant. Autoglym meguiars products Collinite pure wax)-Front bumper has scuff and rear bumper has scuff. If were keeping the car would just get them sorted as would garage if traded it in. MechanicalEngine: no faults.Gearbox: no faults.DPF EGR no faults (DPF regenerates and Egr operates can see this on my laptop software)Electrics: no faults. Other infoPhotos available for this- had small (and mean small) bump few years ago. was stopped at junction on backroad in Chacewater, Truro the lady in front of me pulled out of the junction and turned right. also went to pull out, looking left to ensure all clear as was travelling forwards but she had, in fact, then decided to stop in the middle of the road (even though there was no traffic coming (!) and so, as was looking left still, couldn't avoid her. If it were £30k car the insurance company would have just repaired it. But as it was worth around 7k at the time, the relatively small cost of the bumper and bonnet and radiator did not meet the insurance company's ratio of cost to repair to resale value at 7k.The good thing is, it was only mph (as was pulling out of junction). Hence no major damage just bonnet, bumper and radiator. Which was just days work to replace. No airbags, suspension or structural damage whatsoever. I have receipts available for the parts replaced and it re-mot'd fine straight away. Like say, have photos to show.Due to BMW parts labour prices, the insurance company just decided to pay me out rather than replace those items themselves so just kept it and simply replaced the parts. Easy fix and in no time at all. This is not an unroadworthy car that would be cat a/b/c. This is the lowest category of just being financially nonsensical for the insurance company to have replaced those parts using BMW themselves compared to the value of the car at the time. And why have made an adjustment on the price accordingly. SummaryIn summary, an extremely reliable and an extremely well looked after car which has just been serviced and needs nothing doing it and will not need anything for many miles. I would have absolutely no hesitation in keeping it for another 100,000 miles. Indeed, part of me thinks should, as it is cheap motoring with all the power and economy you need; these BMW M57T2 engines are bulletproof and are good for much higher mileages than is on it at present. It is 2006 car so its not brand new but other than two scuffs i've mentioned on the bumpers, this is in extremely good condition and i'm sure that the first genuine person to view and drive it will appreciate it and realise this. I've driven other cars with less miles that feel tired, floaty and generally worn out. This feels, drives, acts like well maintained BMW does like new. Ps. As know the car inside out having maintained it for many years and have utter faith in it, I'm even happy to keep in contact with the prospective buyer for period of time to answer any questions they may have or give advice. Interior pictures just taken (nighttime) will replace tomorrow with daylight. Ps. An offer will have to be very close to asking price as it's well priced and with new wheels etc compared to others with 200k+ miles on them
