Regretfully, up for sale is my MK3 Golf race/track car. I've owned this car over the past ten years and have raced it in number of racing series during its ownership. Its has been very successful race car with some class and overall wins (This can be evidenced via results on TSL Timing). I never thought the time would come when would have to sell this car, as it started off my motorsport career. had always dreamed of doing something special with it, however after two years of not being used, feel its time to let it go. The Golf is running again for the first time this year, three weeks ago and took it to Donington and it performed perfectly. The spec is as follows: Under the bonnet MK4 V6 2.8 4motion engine MK4 V5 gearbox with Quaife LSD MK4 Gearshifter Viber techniques mounts Custom exhaust 6-2-1pippercross air intake AMD Remap2l catch tank Twin cooling fan on manual switch Big Alloy radiator Oil cooler The chassis and shell Glass fibre front end (Wings and bonnet)Poly windows GAZ Gold coilovers with custom springs (1 year and track day old)18z Brembo Brakes with R32 discs (1 year and track day old)Braided hoses ran within cabin OBP Pedal box Brake bias on rear lines Black stuff polybush (Full motorsport)8 Team dynamic 17inch alloys (2x Toyo R888R 2x NS2 tyres track day old) Spacers all round OMP Roll cage Sparco Seat Dropped and extended steering colum (Touring car style)4 point harness (Out of date for racing)Fire ext kit (Out of date for racing)Chassis strengthening bars The list goes on... I'm sure there are more that have missed, but just from the above, it is clear that have spent lot of time and money on this car over the years. Last power test was 211bhp at the hubs and it weight 1120kg. It will make good car to race in MSVT Track Day Trophy Track day Championship or even Classic VW Cup
So what needs doing? (I'll try to cover this as honestly as possible); Harness and fire ext kit needs updating to be race legal. The biggest let down on this car is bodywork, its been race car for 10 years now and the bodywork shows this, the grey plastic dip has started peeling off in places, it would benefit from clean off and respray or just tidy it up and not worry about little rubbing when you go racing (Has never had any major accidents or required any structural repairs).Fuel gauge currently doesn't work. The car is being stored at Moores Motors in Wokingham. Viewing is possible by appointment only, I'm also open for potential buyers to test the car at track day. (Further costs will apply)
