Custom 1964 Corvette In 1964 purchased from aninsurance company, 1964 Chevrolet Corvette convertible that had been stolenand had its engine and transmission removed. (Vin# 40867S103144) There was also considerable body damage.  My father owned very prestigious auto body repairshop where worked.  Over the next fiveyears installed the following: Chevrolet 409 engineHigh performance cam withsolid liftersHigh performance intakemanifoldTwin carburetorsCustom exhaust system withcutoutsAluminum four speed transmissionCustom dashboardCustom upholstery Custom seatsCustom steering wheelCustom body I converted the body from aconvertible to hardtop with removable roof. The roof when not installed fits behind the seats.  The body was completely custom built and nota kit body.  There are no other vehicleslike this one.  retained all of theCorvette inner panels and door mechanisms. The steering, suspension, windshield, drivetrain are all standard Corvetteand parts are readily available.      I built the automobile to bedriven on the street and not show car. I did however enter it in several shows where took first place.  Because of work related issues drove thevehicle less than 300 miles when parked it in barn and it has not beendriven for the last 50 years. The car will require work tobe driven.  The body is in excellentcondition but has some paint chips.  Thetires are dry rotted and several have blown out. The aluminum wheels arepitted.  There is some upholstery mouse damage.  The rubber items like radiator and breakhoses will have to be replaced.  Batteryis missing.  The driver door glass iscracked.  have no idea of what theengine will require. The vehicle is located on afarm 40 miles North of Pittsburgh Pa. Moving it will require flatbed tow truck.  Contact me if you have any questions.
