1970 Dodge D-100 (F Series) Adventurer Special Ordered New with Bucket Seat Package & Special Order Paint! I don’t think that there are many serious car collectors that would argue with the fact that pickup trucks are the new favorite car collecting genre. While many pickups look like the work horses that they are, over the years in the 1960s and 1970s Dodge saw the opportunity to “sexy” up their pickup trucks to make them look like more than industrial haulers. The 1970 Dodge D-100 Adventurer in this ad is certainly one of those trucks, even the name “Adventurer” seems to exclude the idea of maximum hauling capacity in exchange for the “glitz”. Most car collectors like myself never realized that this particular model was even produced. Just check out some of the features on this truck that came from the factory, many that were special ordered from the factory. 1970 Dodge Adventurer that was known as the Series Swept Line Era To start with the truck comes with 318 V8 engine, automatic 727 Torque Flite 3-speed transmission, power steering and get this Factory Bucket Seats Package and Special Order Paint #DQE 70352 Saxony Red. In addition the special order items included:Chrome front bumper.Chrome rear bumper.Oil pressure gauge.Tinted Glass Dual horns (currently not working)Cigar lighter (not cigarette but cigar lighter). Again, the Bucket Seat Package including center console and carpeting on the floor and over gas tank.Roof headlining panel and additional insulation.Radio A.M. (not in vehicle)Power Steering Don’t forget to check out the factory Ralleye Wheels including Ralleye Wheel for the spare tire! Yes, the spare tire does have matching wheel. The spare rides under the bed of the truck near the tailgate. If this truck does not impress serious car collectors that have decided to have one of the important, special pickups from the 1970s…I don’t know what would. The history of this truck is known from the very first day when it was special ordered by gentleman who was considered the “roller rink baron” in the days when roller rinks and roller skating racing was very popular. The truck has had two prior owners. In 2001 the truck received complete frame off restoration and one could say that it is quite possibly as good as new truck. If you are pickup collector or serious car collector that wants to have side show in your museum, you might want to give strong consideration to this rare piece of pickup truck history.
