This is full on restoration of genuine 1970 VW KARMANN GHIA. Currently It is in the put back together stage, with only the remaining lower panel and underside bodywork to complete. Engine rebuild is 1600 dual port MEGASQUIRT based EFI using Mexican EFI stock VW parts. The front and rear suspension has been totally rebuilt with the front installed and the rear awaiting the Trans-Axle and underside bodywork to be completed. The Trans-Axle has had partial rebuild (seals and rubber plus fluid checks out fine) and the CV's are totally rebuilt. Obvious the wheels are off as there is some body work left to finish, all steel lower panels. Parts shop with all trim, glass etc for TWO cars as parted an identical one found in barn in Vermont. Pictures indicate the exact current state of the car. Needs bodywork completed, finish, paint and TLC to put it back together. Almost all parts are original from both cars including spare line bored engine case.
I am moving to the west coast in one month and cannot move with my other projects as no garage at the other end. also have no time left to finish. The potential buyer will have to negotiate with me about getting the wheels on, which is most likely essential in this case for movement. The car is located in Canada near Ottawa and is on jackstands in my garage. There are many, many genuine VW parts from brakes and lines to crankshafts and camshafts. The car is solid, engine is ready to go. There is brand new wiring harness and many other essentials ready to go.
